CJ Sheeran Opens New €6 Million Logistics Facility in Mountrath
CJ Sheeran Group has officially opened a new €6 million logistics and storage facility in Mountrath, Co. Laois, marking an important milestone in the Group’s continued investment in manufacturing, logistics and sustainable employment in the Midlands.

The official opening took place on 19 August 2026, with Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, with responsibility for Forestry, Farm Safety and Horticulture, Niall Collins TD, visiting the site to mark the completion of the new facility.
The 50,000 sq. ft. logistics and storage facility has the capacity to store up to 150,000 pallets. It will provide dedicated storage for customer products while supporting the continued expansion of CJ Sheeran Group’s third-party logistics services across Ireland and the UK.
Investing in Growth and Capacity
The new facility forms part of a wider programme of strategic investment at CJ Sheeran Group’s Mountrath headquarters.
Recent developments at the site include:
- A new automated pallet production line capable of producing more than 10,000 timber pallets per week
- A new 1.75MW biomass boiler
- Two new high-capacity kilns, with a further two kilns planned
- Continued investment in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, engineering and automation
The latest project has created 15 additional jobs, bringing CJ Sheeran Group’s total direct workforce to 465 employees. Further employment opportunities are expected as future phases of the Group’s development programme progress.

Supporting Sustainable Pallet Solutions
As Ireland’s largest pallet manufacturer and recycler, CJ Sheeran Group continues to invest in sustainable pallet solutions and a circular approach to timber packaging.
Timber pallets can be reused, repaired and remanufactured throughout their working life before the material is ultimately recovered and recycled. This helps keep a renewable resource in productive use for as long as possible, reducing waste while supporting essential supply chains across Ireland and the UK.
The Group’s investment in pallet manufacturing, pallet recycling, storage and logistics strengthens its ability to provide a fully integrated service to customers across a wide range of sectors.
Speaking at the official opening, Mark Sheeran, Managing Director of CJ Sheeran Group, said:
“This investment provides the capacity required to support automation, increased manufacturing output and the next phase of CJ Sheeran Group’s growth, including third-party logistics.”
The new development is the first of six major logistics and storage facilities planned as part of the Group’s long-term strategic investment programme for its Mountrath site.

A Commitment to Laois and the Midlands
The official opening was attended by Minister Niall Collins TD, representatives from Forest Industries Ireland, Laois County Council, colleagues, partners and guests.
The investment reflects CJ Sheeran Group’s continued commitment to Co. Laois and the Midlands, creating capacity for future growth and sustainable employment while strengthening its manufacturing, recycling, pallet storage and logistics capabilities.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us to mark this important milestone and, in particular, our team whose continued commitment and hard work made the day such a success.
The opening of our new €6 million facility represents an exciting next step for CJ Sheeran Group as we continue to invest in our people, our operations and the future of sustainable timber pallets, packaging and logistics.
