CJS feature on RTE SixOne News
CJ SHEERAN recently featured across mainstream media discussing The Brexit Bug 🐜 where WTO ISPM15 rules will apply to UK palletised imports and exports if there’s a No Deal Brexit. [Pictured L-R: Peter Rice, Ashleigh Doyle, Ciarán Mullooly RTE, Brendan Hogan & Mark Sheeran]. You can view the news feature here.
The accompanying editorial from RTE News Online can be read here. Our advice remains the same as always – Be Informed, Be Prepared. And with many of the candidates that are seeking to replace Theresa May as Conservative Party Leader and Prime Minister already stating that they would push for Brexit on October 31st, regardless of whether or not a deal has been agreed, against the warnings of every major business lobby group, the threat of a No Deal Brexit remains firmly on the table. Our media coverage on this situation has been widespread – contact us on 1850201765 to discuss your ISPM15 requirements.
A Ministerial Visit
CJ SHEERAN recently met with Andrew Doyle – Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture, Charlie Flanagan – Minister for Justice and Equality and Councillor Conor Bergin for a site tour at our Mountrath facility and a discussion on Brexit, ISPM15, FSC, the Forestry Industry, Insurance Reform, the recently released SSRH scheme and employment. “We were delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate the intricacies of pallet manufacturing and to highlight bureaucratic issues that Ireland’s pallet sector, as a sector that supplies the majority of Ireland’s core industries, encounters”, says Ashleigh Doyle, Director at CJS. “As we say, it’s more than just a pallet”. Ligna 2019

Ligna is the most important meeting place for the forestry and woodworking industry worldwide, covering the complete machine-based value-adding chain – from timber harvesting to the finished wood product. CJ Sheeran ensure that they are always ahead of the curve when it comes to new technologies and developments in the industry. “There is a huge capital investment in our business in terms of equipment and it’s always important to attend to see the latest innovations”, says Fergal Moran, Business Development Director at CJS. “During the show we placed an order for 2 more high speed kilns that are due for installation in 2019, which brings our drying capacity up to 45,000 pallets per week. It’s also useful to hear about the trends and happenings in general across the pallet industry as you get to meet industry leaders from USA, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Italy to mention a few”.
“Ligna for us this year was about catching up with our machinery, timber and nail suppliers and cementing our ties with them, as we had already made large investments with them over the past 12-18 months”, adds Mark Sheeran, Managing Director at CJS. “We also found some interesting potential suppliers including labelling companies, composite block suppliers and new sources of lumber supply from continental Europe and the Baltics. With regard to the latter they seem to have strengthened their supply chains into Ireland and the UK”.
